Robert Winn, a world-famous flute player born in Halifax, northern England, graduated from the Royal Academy of Music. With outstanding musical ability, he gained the position of chief of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, a leading British orchestra, in 1985. Until he left the orchestra in 1997, he supported famous conductors such as André Previn and Vladimir Ashkenazy, releasing numerous concerts and CD recordings around the world. In addition to his extensive experience in classical music, he has also performed as a flutist in numerous Hollywood films such as The Lord of the Rings and The English Patient. He is also enthusiastic about teaching younger generations, and started teaching in earnest as a professor at the Weimar Franz Liszt College of Music in Germany in 1994, and has been teaching his students as a professor at the Cologne College of Music from 1999 to the present.
