Professor Christoph De Clara of the Mozarteum University of Music will teach you traditional piano playing techniques and how to bring out your individuality.

Professor Christoph De Clara is an outstanding musician with a deep passion for classical piano. Based in Salzburg, Austria, his hometown, he is highly regarded as an educator who pursues faithfulness to historical performance styles and works while guiding each student to find their own unique approach to music. Since making his debut with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 14 at the age of just 5, he has achieved brilliant results on the international stage as a soloist and ensemble player. Professor De Clara's performances are characterized by a beautiful, singing tone and a delicate sense of style, cultivated by his extensive experience in choral and chamber music. His experience of learning the violin in parallel with the piano from the age of 8 also gives a unique depth to his musicality. His experience of studying under Christoph Lieske and Pavel Gililov at the Mozarteum and serving as Gililov's assistant from 2010 to 2017 provides a solid foundation for his teaching methodology. After obtaining his teaching qualification in 2016, he has taught piano classes in Salzburg and has earned a high reputation both in Japan and abroad as a master class instructor and judge. His recordings include works by Brahms, Gubaidulina, and Reistner-Meyer, the latter of which, in particular, was dedicated to Professor De Clara and premiered. His brilliant award history also proves his talent, and he has received international acclaim, including first place at the Hildegard Maschmann Foundation Piano Competition in 7, a prize at the Maria Canals Barcelona International Music Performance Competition in 2005, and second place at the Johannes Brahms International Competition in 1. Lessons from Professor De Clara, who has earned the highest grade of master's degree, are a valuable opportunity for true musical growth not only for musicians aiming to become professionals, but also for those seeking authentic European musical education. Through Professor De Clara's guidance, you can not only improve your technique, but also gain a deeper understanding of the historical background and musical context of the works, and embark on a journey to find your own musical expression. Come experience Professor Christophe DeClara's lessons and discover the true art of piano.

In fact, many students in Europe study through listening. It is also an opportunity to listen to the performances of many other people, and through the lessons of various people, you will be able to better understand the teaching method and personality of the teacher. Musical instruments other than the piano can also enjoy the atmosphere of overseas classes, so please feel free to join us. The teaching method of overseas professors is completely different from that of Japan. In particular, the main focus is to "enjoy and express music more", so the points to teach vary from student to student. Isn't it a big point for those who are aiming to study abroad or become a professional in the future to feel how the points of teaching are different from those in Japan?
